Terms of service

These terms govern your use of the Raeven Reader website, mobile and desktop apps, and admin dashboard (collectively, the "Service") provided by Raeven Company Ltd ("Raeven", "we", "us"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service you agree to these terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to use the Service. If you sign up on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

2. Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your credentials secret and for everything that happens under your account.
• Notify us immediately at emorylebo@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
• One person per account. Sharing accounts is not permitted on free or Pro plans.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Process content you do not have the right to process (e.g. copyrighted material you do not own or licence).
• Upload malware or attempt to compromise the Service or other users.
• Probe, scan, or stress-test the Service without prior written permission. Responsible disclosure is welcome — see our security page.
• Use the Service to generate or distribute illegal, defamatory, harassing, or sexually-explicit material involving minors.
• Resell the Service or expose Raeven endpoints as a public API without a written agreement.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of everything you upload (documents, audio, transcripts, notes). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, process and display that content solely as required to provide the Service to you. We will not train any model on your content without your explicit opt-in.

5. Third-party AI providers

Some features rely on third-party AI providers (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, Groq, or any OpenAI-compatible gateway your administrator configures). When you invoke such a feature, the relevant content is sent to the configured provider for processing. Your use of those outputs is also subject to that provider's terms.

6. Subscription & billing

• The free tier provides core local-only features. Pro features (cloud transcription, exports, bulk upload) require a paid plan.
• Subscription fees are charged in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law.
• You may cancel any time — Pro features remain active until the end of the paid period.
• We may change pricing on 30 days' notice for new billing cycles.

7. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, if your use creates a security or legal risk, or if we are legally required to. You may close your account at any time.

8. Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". Document parsing and AI outputs are imperfect and may contain errors — do not rely on them as the sole source of truth for legal, medical, financial or safety-critical decisions.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Raeven's total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD 100. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Raeven against claims arising from content you upload, your breach of these terms, or your misuse of the Service.

11. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced inside the app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Raeven Company Ltd is incorporated, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
